Tim Salazar
Design partner for founders who know it matters.
Background
I've spent my career embedded in product teams at early-stage and growth-stage startups — close enough to engineering to understand what ships and what doesn't, close enough to users to know what actually matters.
Most recently, I ran design for Logixboard as an embedded contractor — leading platform UI modernization, building a research infrastructure, and designing Clockwork, their AI-native product for freight operators. Before that, [TODO: fill in prior experience].
I started infiniteregress.industries because the embedded model works better for both sides than any alternative I've seen. Founders get senior design capability for a fixed, predictable investment. I get to work on hard product problems without the overhead of running an agency.
Philosophy
Design at early-stage companies isn't about taste. It's about velocity and judgment — making good decisions fast, with incomplete information, inside a system that's changing every week. That's a different skill than designing at a place with a mature design system and a stable product surface.
I don't believe in design as a handoff step. I believe in design as a continuous presence in the product conversation — at the table when decisions get made, not downstream cleaning them up.
And I believe the best design work leaves behind more capability than it required. That's why every engagement ends with a Design Ghost.
How I work
Async-first. I write clearly and communicate in Linear and Slack so decisions are visible and traceable. Weekly syncs with leadership. Daily design output in Figma.
I use AI in the design workflow — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine accelerant. Research synthesis, concept generation, copy iteration, QA automation. This is part of how I work and part of what I leave behind.

The network
I run all engagements directly, but I'm not a solo act. Over the years I've built a trusted network of brand designers, motion designers, user researchers, and frontend engineers. When a project needs expanded scope, I bring them in and manage the work. You talk to one person.
Let's work together.
Tell me what you're building. If it's a good fit, we'll scope something and get started.
